I am developing plastic materials derived from plants. These materials store carbon that would otherwise be returned to the air, are environmentally friendly and avoid the huge carbon emissions of petroleum-derived plastics (each kilogram of petroleum-derived plastic results in the emission of 100 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalents).
